He Grew Up
Where You Are.
Ypsilanti, Michigan. A city where adversity was everywhere. Darius grew up seeing exactly what you see. Hearing exactly what you hear. Feeling exactly what you feel when people look at your zip code and decide what your life is going to be.
He joined the Army. He went to work at 19 at the biggest mortgage company in the country, knowing nobody, with nothing but his work ethic and the decision he made as a kid. He became one of their top people. Then he built his own company from scratch.
He did not do any of that because the road was easy. He did it because he was decided. And what he wants you to know is this: that decision is available to you. Right now. Today.

That Are True.
Where you grew up does not decide where you end up.
Darius grew up in Ypsilanti, Michigan, in circumstances that shaped how he understands adversity. Every statistic pointed in the wrong direction. He made it anyway. Not because he got lucky. Because he decided.
The people who make it are not the most talented. They are the most decided.
He was not the smartest kid in school. He did not have connections. He did not have money. What he had was a decision he made when he was still a kid: I am going to be the one that makes it out. That decision changed everything.
The grind is not punishment. It is preparation.
Every hard thing you are dealing with right now is building something in you. The struggle is not in the way. It is the way. The people who come out on the other side of hard things are the ones who did not quit when it made sense to.
You are allowed to want more.
Not everyone around you is going to understand your ambition. Some people in your life will try to talk you back down to the level they are comfortable with. Let them talk. Your ceiling is not their ceiling.
I told my mom I was gonna be the one to make it out. Not just survive it. Make it out. Crack the code. And hold the door open for the next one coming behind me.
